I had a lot excuses why I should skip my run today.
I am on vacation.
We are staying in a hotel.
I got about 2 hours of sleep.
I am still coming back from my ankle injury and would have to take walk breaks, which means it would take a LONG time to do 15 miles.
The breakfast buffet closes at 9:30am so I would have to finish by 8:30 or 9 if I wanted to go, and I love breakfast buffets.
When my alarm went off at 4am I did have a moment of hesitation. But I knew how much I would regret it if I slept in. So I got up, ate my power bar, got dressed, and ran 15 miles in the hotel fitness center. Then I ate a delicious breakfast buffet including a PB&J bagel, chocolate muffin, sausage, and hash browns. I 100% do not regret my decision to get up at 4am on my first day of vacation and spend 3 hours of my morning running.
You always regret the workout you skipped. You rarely regret the workout you do.
